We like to see the men go through a few challenges for charity too! So we're delighted to promote the fact that one of our amazing team of graphic and web designers, Gareth Tutt, is running the 2012 Virgin London Marathon on Sunday 22nd April to support the Waves Charity in Africa.
N9 Design work with us closely to bring you this fab website and all our print and promotional materials – they are based in Plymouth and all men! We're proud to say that they are all very much in touch with their feminine side having worked with Funny Women for 10 years!
Waves focus on bringing some pleasure and some fun to children in Kenya to provide them with "hope for a better life".
The charity works with disadvantaged children providing them with educational support, building sports fields, setting up scout camps and music lessons. It also supports local health, welfare and skills training programmes for young people.
£275 can provide secondary education for a child at Mukuru for a year.
£40 will send a child on an African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (AFEW) Safari for 7 days
Just £10 provides a child with books for Maths and English.
Books about wildlife cost £20 each.
"Any donation would be such a great help and massive boost for me," says Gareth who has stepped up his training now there's just four weeks to go. "Please dip into your pockets, drawers, piggys and give whatever you can!"
Gareth has also come up with an innovative way to raise even more money by donating his services (design, that is!) to the person with the highest donation.
"As part of my fundraising for VLM '12, I am offering three hours of my design services to one lucky person. Just donate what you think this is worth and the person with the highest donation will win my services!"
Gareth will announce the winner on the 26th April which is when his page closes. The winner can have whatever he/she likes within the time. Logo, web visual, poster anything but you must donate to be in for a chance of winning."
We're lovin' the creative fundraising here so get your bids in early – we'll be cheering Gareth and a few other Marathon friends along the route on Sunday 22nd April!
