After a week of being really good on the JanePlan diet and swimming and completing a 5k Race For Life and feeling confident of a few pounds weight loss: my Wii Fit tells me I've stayed the same…confused.com! Ok, so I did have a roast dinner after the event with my mum but even she said I looked like I'd lost weight and my flatmate who hadn't seen me for a couple weeks thought I looked slimmer! (Editor’s note: She totally does. AM)
I told Jane and she said that what mattered was that I felt better, and maybe the exercise had effected what the scales had to say, and encouraged me to keep going. I have felt better being in the diet 'zone' and I want to get back in my jeans before my birthday in September so will keep calm and carry on!
Spent this afternoon at Funny Women HQ recording a video message to launch the ‘Real Funny Woman Challenge’ as part of our Race for Life activity. FULL DETAILS HERE. The winner gets tickets to the Funny Women Awards final in September plus an all-expenses paid trip to London! I'm hosting the final this year, how exciting!
For the video I had to stand in front of a green screen and talk directly to camera – not as easy as I thought. It’s very different to having an audience and microphone! I had a bit of a giggle as I kept changing my lines and staring at camera like rabbit in the headlights. Nailed it in the end, with the assistance of some clever editing.
I also went to see Bridesmaids at the cinema. Funniest film ever! Recognised myself in a couple of the characters too. There’s a review in the Funny Women blog, and an article about Bridesmaids in the next issue of Cosmopolitan along Lynne and I from Funny Women having a little chat about women in comedy in the article so look out for it!
