Funny Women

Keeley Hazell is a writer and actress. She was once nominated for an Emmy, oh wait, that was someone who plays Keeley on TV. Hazell wrote for Ted Lasso though, which won approximately one thousand Emmys. So, she’s watched a lot of other people receive awards, and has officially held a Golden Globe, an Emmy, and a BAFTA to her tits. Which kinda counts.

What is your show about?

It’s a one woman show loosely based on my memoir of the same name. It deals with identity and class and explores what it means to be erased from your own life.

How does it feel to be performing at the Fringe for the first time?

Like England are in the semi-finals of the World Cup, and I have tickets, but we’re playing against Brazil.

Who are the funny women you would recommend seeing at Fringe this year?

Alessandra Ford Balazs.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Life and melons.

What’s next for you?

A month-long nap in Italy.

Any tips for comedians?

Pee before you go on stage; otherwise, it’s torture.

You can follow and keep up with Keeley on Instagram and Facebook.
