“Enough is Plenty”, as they say, and Funny Women’s Irish producers Val Troy and Orla Diamantino have 80% of what they need to shoot a scene from their new TV comedy/drama project Men Oh! Pause.

Val and Orla have teamed up with award-winning producer Mo O’Connell at 3 Hot Whiskeys Films to develop Men Oh! Pause and apply to Screen Ireland’s TV development fund. Together, they’ve opened a GoFundMe page to raise funds to shoot a scene from the pilot episode. They would love your support in raising the remaining 20% needed to hit their target.

Men Oh! Pause follows ‘Jules’, a worn-out peri-menopausal divorcee, who longs to escape her jealous ex and meddling ex-mother-in-law. Inspired by her worldly daughter and frazzled best friend, she presses pause on dating men in favour of dating women. Can she change her life during the change of life?

Men Oh! Pause is a warm, witty six-part TV comedy-drama that blends romance, farce and the hilarity of midlife reinvention in a world full of unexpected possibilities.

In the UK, women write only 11% of sitcoms. This show has all-female writers, director and producer and features a core cast of three generations of strong female characters. Let’s challenge that percentage.

As they say in Tesco, “Every Little Helps.” If you can support the crowdfunding in any way,
it will help to inch them towards the target. You can find their GoFundMe here.
