We are thrilled to announce that the 2025 Funny Women Comedy Writing Award has received an extraordinary number of scripts this year. Thanks to the invaluable assistance of our fantastic panel of readers from the comedy industry, we have diligently reviewed and scored over 300 scripts, finally narrowing them down to a longlist of 20.
If you didnt make this list please don’t be discouraged. Thank you so much for entering this year’s Awards. What began as an idea 23 years ago has grown into a platform that continues to uncover brilliant new voices, and with a record number of entries this year, the standard was incredibly high. We hope you feel proud of your work, and we encourage you to keep going — your talent and dedication are exactly what keeps this competition alive.
Each script was judged against the criteria of Concept, Plot, Originality, Humour and Dialogue , and the ones that rose to the top truly stood out for their exceptional qualities.
After much consideration, we believe the panel has done an incredible job curating an exceptional range of scripts that exemplify the richness and diversity of comedy writing.
