So, Alison, tell us a bit about you.
My name is Alison Spittle, I’m a comedian doing my umpteenth show at the fringe. I’m a stand-up and I’ve been on podcasts and some TV. I’m happy with my career but I’m going to Edinburgh with hopes and dreams. I’m from Ireland and I host podcasts and parasites.

What can you tell us about your show?
Guess what? Big is my vest show yet. Even better than Wet and I didn’t think that was possible. It’s about being fatty baddy and a drain on the NHS.
What do you think about the price of trains in the UK?
I’m glad you asked. I think it’s a disgrace. Avanti West Coast need to take a look at themselves!
How does it feel to be returning to the Edinburgh Fringe?
Lovely, going back to the same flat with new flatmates Heidi Regan and Helen Baur 💕. Lovely memories, excited about noodles and dumplings and there’s this comedians party that you have to pretend you don’t give a shite about but a TV channel rents out an arcade and you get to throw axes and complain. It’s wonderful.
Have you got any tips for comedians going up to the festival for the first time?
Ask people questions, other comics and find out info. The fringe is a reccie mission where you find out intel.
Who are the funny women you would recommend seeing in Edinburgh this year?
Grace Mulvey’s show, ‘Did you hear that we’re all going to die?’ I’ve seen it twice and laughed until I hurt. Tamsyn Kelly, Marise Gaughan, Krystal Evans and Jessie Nixon will do great shows. And bloody Ziwe! She’s coming to the fringe, we should be honoured.
