In 2025 Funny Women proudly launched The Glitter Challenge, mentoring 10 amazing women who have taken on a unique Comedy Challenge to raise vital funds for The Glitter Project. Each challenger will be mentored by an experienced comedian, helping them write and perfect their own unique 5 minute set. The challenge culminates with a night of stand up, our challengers appearing live on stage at the world’s largest arts festival, Edinburgh Fringe 2025.
The funds we raise from The Glitter Challenge will go towards giving women from all walks of life access to incredible creative opportunities in a safe, inclusive environment.
Let’s meet our first challenger…Bev Bunn.
Bunn says: “Coming from a family of short-arses, Beverley lives by the motto ‘size isn’t everything’. She may not be able to reach the top shelf in the supermarket, but what she lacks in height, she makes up for in volume. Never one to hide behind the parapet, Beverley is an effervescent mix of official cockney-turned-middle-class Kentish maid. She’s a wife and mum and custodian of two schnoodles, who all keep a safe distance when she is practising the violin. Beverley comes to the world of comedy later than most, but now realises that all those years spent in HR, engineering & massage therapy, have given her plenty to talk about. Approaching 60 with a whoosh!“
