SUGAR Fundraiser

SUGAR is an evening of beauty, celebration, community, and comedy from the fittest comedians and cabaret acts on the circuit; all to raise money for the Trans Legal Clinic.

Sick of the hate? Supreme Court leaving you bitter? Political discourse leaving a sour taste? Sounds like you need some SUGAR honey!

So come watch the best comedy gala you’ve ever seen – all in the name of trans rights!

100% of proceeds will go towards the Trans Legal Clinic, a grassroots, trans-led legal clinic providing free and accessible legal support to trans people across the UK. They recently launched the Trans Legal Fund, with the aim of using it to bring a human rights challenge against the recent Supreme Court ruling against the trans community. There will also be an auction live on the night in order raise even more money.

The line up boasts the best and brightest trans folk and allies, including Stewart Lee, Jordan Gray, Funny Women Finalist Kemah Bob, Frankie Thompson, Jen Ives, Dee Allum, Ella the Great, Sam Williams, Alex Franklin, Jodie Mithcell, Ciara O’Connor and Sam Nicoresti as MC. The night promises to be a good one.

The evening has been organised by Franklin, Nicoresti, Allum and Ives. Franklin told us: ‘We organised this event to help provide some light in a dark time! The Supreme Court ruling and the associated transphobic consequences have already greatly affected our community, and the UK has fallen to 22nd (from 1st in 2015) in ILGA-Europe’s ranking of LGBT+ rights in Europe. Events like these raise money to fund the legal challenges to recent anti-trans legislation, and allow us as a community to fight back against those trying to remove us from public life! Also the night itself is going to be great so if anything just come for all the funny people being silly and goofy …

The show is running for one night only at the Pleasance Theatre in London, on the 5th June 2025, 7:30-10:30 pm Doors are at 7 pm, so don’t be late!
