June means we’re halfway through the year (…let’s not dwell) and, more importantly, being the official first month of summer, means: evenings spent outdoors, guzzling ice cold drinks, weekends spent picnicking in the park, or swaying to music in a field at a festival. Bliss. Provided the weather holds out. As ever, there are some fabulous comedy shows to catch this month, whatever the weather, from fantastic stadium acts, to superb work in progress and Edinburgh preview shows, with some dazzling variety and cabaret shows too. So why not have a read and book one in?

1. JESSIE CAVE: WORK IN PROGRESS

You may know Jessie Cave (@jessiecave) as Lavender Brown from Harry Potter, or, from her award winning 2018 show turned best selling book Sunrise, or from her hair brushing content on Only Fans. Whichever way, you’ll be thrilled to know you can catch her characteristically charming and self-deprecating self in her newest work in progress night this month, featuring the trials of motherhood, and generally working out where she’s going wrong.

Katherine Ryan: battleaxe

Sophie McCartney: one foot in the rave

After a 70 night tour last year, Sophie McCartney is back with her second UK wide tour, telling us about her experience entering a new decade, 90s nostalgia, and what to do when you want to rave, but only provided said rave ends at 9pm. If you can’t catch her in Leeds this month, check out her other dates and venues here.

Abi Clarke: Role Model

You may know her as Office Sharon, or as a member of ASOS HQ’s fashionistas from her viral Tik Toks, either way, you can catch the last of Abi Clarke’s (@abiclarkecomedy) touring debut show Role Model in Salford Quays this month. Expect high energy, sharp gags, some Twilight content, sprinkled with some oversharing. Not to miss!

Katie Norris: go west, old maid (edinburgh preview)

Katie Norris (Leicester Comedy Awards Winner 2025 and Funny Women Awards Finalist 2023), @katienorris26, brings her operatic vocal chords, hilariously melodramatic on-stage persona and dynamite original songs to The Pleasance this month, to preview her newest show before taking it to the Fringe. Expect bonkers hilarity of the best degree.

SAM NICORESTI: BABY DOOMER (FRINGE PREVIEW)

Chortle Awards Nominee Sam Nicoresti (@samnicoresti) is back previewing their fresh new hour show Baby Doomer before taking it to Edinburgh this summer. Nicoresti wowed audiences with their last hour show Wokeflake which Chortle named the ‘definitive document of the trans experience in stand-up’, so frankly, you’d be silly to sleep on this one. Go, go, go!

ANNA HALE: CONTROL FREAK (FRINGE PREVIEW)

2024 Musical Comedy Awards finalist Anna Hale (@allhaleanna) is a musical stand up comedian (…duh), socially anxious extrovert and self-proclaimed control freak, previewing her debut hour show Control Freak before bringing it to The Fringe this summer.
