
Drumroll please! Registration for the Funny Women Awards 2025, Is now open AND we have new sponsor! We are delighted to announce that BBC Studios’ digital comedy channel, Funny Parts, is supporting us to celebrate the best in women’s comedy across the UK. The partnership will bring together icons of British comedy with new talent in an exciting collaboration.
The sponsorship was announced at a launch event last night, hosted at the iconic Comedy Store in London, where the very first Funny Women Awards final was held in 2003. A showcase featuring some of the funniest women in comedy was hosted by Kerry Godliman with sets from previous winners including Kate Cheka, Lorna Rose Treen, Sophie McCartney and Hayley Morris. Other acts included Shazia Mirza, Soph Galustian, Hannah Platt, Harriet Kemsley and Athena Kugblenu. BBC Studios Funny Parts Creator in Residence, Adesayo Talabi (Simply Sayo) was on hand to capture interviews on the red-carpet.
The Funny Women Awards have been a significant platform for new talent since 2003, providing a safe space and empowerment for women and female-identifying performers and creators to develop their comedic skills and showcase them across various mediums. Past winners and finalists have become household names including Katherine Ryan, Sara Pascoe, London Hughes, Zoe Lyons, Bridget Christie, Gemma Whelan, Sindhu Vee, Susan Calman and many more. Funny Parts is a BBC Studios Digital Comedy channel which aims to showcase up-and-coming and diverse comedians in short form digital content across YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. Recent commissions across the channel include six-part digital series Am I the Drama working with Gobby Girl Productions, a four-part digital series titled History Gossip working with Jungle and 20 Unhinged digital sketches working with Daddy’s Superyacht.

Having the Awards live again is the icing on the cake, and we can’t wait to see what new talent lies in store for us this year.”

- 1st April 2025: Awards Launch at The Comedy Store, London.
- 2nd April 2025: registration opens for the Stage Award, Comedy Writing Award, Comedy Shorts Award and Content Creator Award.
- 1st June 2025: registration closes for Stage, Comedy Writing and Comedy Shorts Awards.
- 25th August 2025: registration closes for Content Creator Award.
- 1st September 2025: Finalists announced.
- 25th September 2025: Awards Grand Final at The Bloomsbury Theatre, London.
