This March, we’ve got a packed schedule of comedy shows to recommend, whatever your bag. Whether you’d like to celebrate International Women’s Day with a gig dedicated to the day itself (unsurprisingly a big day for us), with a titillating tour show, or a wonderful work in progress, we’ve got you covered.

1. INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY GIGS

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY SPECIAL AT THE BILL MURRAY

To celebrate the big day, you can head down to The Bill Murray for a special mixed bill of some fantastic up-and-coming comedians, the line up so far includes: Dee Allum, Davina Bentley, Blank Peng and more. At a very reasonable price too, it’s a no brainer.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY AT THE COMEDY CARNIVAL

Another bill of fantastic female comics assembling to tell jokes in the name of International Women’s Day, Comedy Carnival in Covent Garden has a stellar line up planned, including: Dana Alexander, Eleanor Tiernan, Maureen Younger and Kelly Ford. There are show and dinner packages on sale, so you can even grab a bite too.

DULCE SLOAN

Appearing on The Daily Show alongside Trevor Noah since 2017, and as a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, the fabulous Dulce Sloan is cruising into London this month for a 6 night run at Soho Theatre. Expect unfiltered and iconic anecdotes straight from Sloan’s life – which you can also find in her memoir published last year, Hello, Friends! – Stories of Dating, Destiny, and Day Jobs.

SON OF A BITCH

Son of a Bitch is a new one-woman, Fringe-First winning play, that tells the story of a mother going viral after calling her four year old son the c-word. Anna Morris stars, dexterously flitting between different characters and equally hilarious, mortifying and relatable moments that arise in working out what it means to be a mother.

lAUREN PATTISON: BIG GIRL PANTS

Off the back of a Fringe run last summer, Lauren Pattison takes her newest show on tour, stopping off at Leicester Square Theatre this March. Pattison has been nominated not once but twice for the Edinburgh Comedy Award, appeared on Roast Battle and on the podcast Have A Word, it’s safe to say she’s a force to be reckoned with. Expect her characteristic warmth as Pattison navigates life’s changes as we grow up. If you can’t catch the London date, you can also catch her in Chester, Stockton and Brighton this month.

HANNAH PLATT: DEFENCE MECHANISM

2023 Funny Women Award finalist Hannah Platt takes her debut show to Soho Theatre this month, and you can expect her characteristic sharp and scathing wit in this hour long stand up show.

TEMI WILKEY: MAIN CHARACTER ENERGY

Temi Wilkey is performing at Soho Theatre this month for a whopping 3-week (almost) run, with her one woman show parody, where she is forced to face up to that unrelenting desire for attention. Camp, feel-good and self-aware, this isn’t one to miss.

You can grab a ticket or two here.
