We are back for Lockdown 2 sharing what online projects comedians are getting up to. Lockdown is a difficult time for everyone, but for comedians it means loss of income and opportunities to try out material and build audiences. Support your favourite funny women by buying them a Ko-fi, sharing links to their work and following them on their social media. Here is what we have spotted this week!

BBC New Comedy Award nominee Siân Docksey presents an online comedy, pole dancing, drag and variety extravaganza, featuring 2015 Funny Women Awards winner Desiree Burch, Fern Brady, Sikisa and more! This online show will take place on International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers and will be raising funds for sex workers in crisis, with ticket sales and donations being split equally between National Ugly Mugs and the SWARM emergency hardship fund. Comedian Harriet Dyer has written a book, Bipolar Comedian, that would make a very good Christmas present. The blurb says: “From dying twice to wanting to be a boy, her Dad leaving her Mum for a man and once doing so many drugs she thought she was Kat Slater from Eastenders… It’s been eventful.Of course there was the abuse too.A funnier than it should be, honest tale of a bipolar, working class girl from Cornwall who overcame an awful lot of trauma to become an award winning comedian and mental health advocate.” You can order the book here.
Producer and director Saima Ferdows has joined forces with comedians Alice-India and Ruby Carr, together they are The Risky Boys and they have a new podcast. In the first episode we discover why Ruby and Alice will never marry, what recent risks they’ve taken, why Alice’s mum is getting risky with coffee and more! To listen click here!
