Funny Women

After her sell-out Fringe show Heidi vs Sharks, Heidi Regan is bringin her new show Heidi Kills Time to Edinburgh. Described as a silly and surreal show about time travel, Heidi is bringing a new spin to those immature ‘I slept with your mum’ jokes. We caught up with the award-winning comic to talk about time, projectors and customer value…

Funny Women: Tell us about your show Heidi Kills Time.

Heidi Regan: It’s a very silly and surreal show that covers issues like climate change, being gay and magical amulets.

FW: Why time?

HR: Someone pointed out how many of my jokes were about time travel and I realised the more anxious I get about the future the more I obsess about time travel so I thought let’s make this pointless worrying FUN.

FW: Last year your show Heidi Vs Sharks was pretty multimedia, is this show as high tech?

HR: Not at all. I wanted to challenge myself to be just a mic for the hour and also to have a show that didn’t need a projector screen to practice every bit so I could work on it much more throughout the year, which I think guarantees more polished jokes so that’s customer value. You’re welcome.

FW: Do you have any advice for comedians bringing their debut show to the Fringe this year?

HR: Don’t worry at the horrific rollercoaster of emotions you never thought you were capable of.

FW: Which women are you hoping to see over the Fringe?

HR: I’ve seen the phenomenal Helen Bauer‘s debut which was amazing as expected. Micky Overman has a brilliant and very silly second show. Excited to also see Sarah Keyworth, Desiree Burch, Ruth Hunter, Catherine Bohart. Janine Harouni is a lovely human and I hear her debut is great! Many many more.

Heidi Regan: Heidi Kills Time is at the Pleasance Courtyard – Beside at 16:45 until 25th August. For tickets and more information click here!
