Four years ago, we launched Funny Friends as a way of raising some much-needed funds and to support and build our community. We all need cheerleaders and our mission is to provide a platform for women to have a voice through comedy and beyond.
The money we raise from our Funny Friends goes towards supporting our grassroots activities including the Funny Women Awards, ensuring we explore new talent nationally with 25 heats across the UK and Ireland, and running Time of the Month currently in London and launching Dublin in May.
Everybody who has signed up as a Funny Friend to date is entitled to some special perks such as free entry to our Time of the Month events in London and tickets to the Funny Women Awards Gala Final. There have been other bonuses too like free workshops, discounts to our business events and even an audience with Jo Brand. We’ve had it all going on!
We now want to do things slightly differently and while we will continue to 100% honour everything we promised for existing Funny Friends, there is a new plan afoot.
Everybody in the current scheme will be upgraded to a new status as Founder Funny Friend and will continue to receive all the promised discounts, freebees and perks as stated here. We will be contacting you all soon with details.
In the immediate meantime, you still have time to become a Funny Friend under the current terms.
