The Comedy.co.uk Awards 2016 winners have been announced, with Red Dwarf in its new Dave incarnation winning the Comedy of the Year 2016 Award in addition to Best Returning TV Sitcom 2016 category.
Comedy fans voted in their tens of thousands for their favourite British comedies of 2016 in TV and radio. Upstart Crow, which stars David Mitchell and 2015 Funny Women Awards runner up Helen Monks won Best New TV Sitcom, for which Fleabag and Camping, Motherland and Mum were shortlisted.
Josie Long’s Romance and Adventure was shortlisted alongside Clare in the Community for Best Radio Sitcom, won by Count Arthur Strong. Tracy Ullman and Morgana lost out to Horrible Histories for Best TV Sketch Show.
The British Comedy Guide has been running the Comedy.co.uk Awards for 11 years and is voted for entirely by the public to showcase the best of British comedy. You can see the rest of the winners here.
