Comedy veteran Arthur Smith is back to introduce a new wave of comedy talent, picked from over 100 auditionees, 14 acts will be performing at this year’s Top of the Bill Showcase, sponsored by Roberson Wines.

I think what I like most about this line up is not that it features some Funny Women Awards finalists, or that it features stand-up, sketch, musical, speciality, visual and physical comedy, but that it reads like a found poem: Arielle Souma, Claire Lenahan, Edna Muldoon, Ei Le An Harris, Lauren Pattison, Michael Clarke, Phillip Lucas, Rahul Kohli, Rasputin’s Lunchbox, Roland Saunders TV-TV, Sindhu Vee, The Establishment, The Monks, Yeah Man.

The NATYS (New Act of The Year) has been going for 30 years (!) now and has auditioned over 3,000 acts, helping more than 300 acts get their start on the live comedy circuit. The NATYS has been selecting acts to appear at their annual Top of the Bill New Acts of the Year show since the early eighties.

A panel of comedy experts, drawn from performers, promoters, punters and the media, will nominate The Roberson Wine Top of the Bill 2017 award. This year the NATYS announced the support of Jack, a leading out-of-home agency for the creative industries, to help NATYS engage the professional club managements, to encourage variety into comedy and to keep comedy live.

The Roberson Wine Top of the Bill 2017 Awards will take place on Sunday 29th January. For more information and tickets click here!
