An eventful eva-ning

Last night, Funny Women and friends descended on Clerkenwell to make a new world record with the help of social app, eva. Together, we set out to tell the most jokes on a social media platform in an hour.

If you weren’t there, did you join in from afar? We made it super easy to get involved. All you had to do was download the eva app and upload videos of your favourite funnies with the hashtag #evajoke. We did get a lot of good jokes through on Twitter, but unfortunately they had to be on eva to count. That’s not to say we didn’t appreciate your gags – thanks for keeping us giggling!

Our brave cohort was marched into comedy battle by natural born leader Samantha Baines. We were also treated to stand-up sets that kept the laughs rolling.

Drunk on laughter and bursting with alcohol, everyone put on their best mini comedy show. There were wigs, comedy props, books, and plenty of other people around to rope in. We even had some people reading systematically out of joke books like trained comedy pets.

And we must extend our thanks to everyone who uploaded from wherever else they may have been at the time. We’re overjoyed that so many of you got involved.

The final total number of jokes is being announced today, so keep an eye out on eva for the video clip. If you enjoyed yourselves (and we suspect everyone did), maybe we’ll have another go at the record next year…
