Infomercials. A word that makes me instantly suspicious, it has to be said. I’ve never been a fan of those glib, 20-minute long ads that try to convince you the presenters really mean it. Who in their life has ever shown such rampant enthusiasm for a mop?
The Representation Project’s YouTube channel put up one such over-acted infomercial this month. If you want to know the secret behind fabulous, glossy hair, just watch this informative video. It’s not as long as the typical infomercial, so give it a click.
In my never-ending quest to avoid spoilers, I’ll just let you all watch it. Hold out for the rushed ‘side effects’ disclaimer at the end, it might just surprise you.
The Representation Project has been around for quite a while – check their video on ‘How the media failed women in 2013‘, for example. This new video clip is already getting attention, with over 150,000 views for the infomercial since it was uploaded on September 9th.
Here’s hoping people pick up on the right message. And stay well away from the video comments section…
