We love The Betsey Trotwood pub in Farringdon. It’s where we’ve put on quite a few of our Funny Women Awards heats, and it was – until recently – the venue for our Time Of The Month nights. We can only apologise to the people downstairs for all the stomping and raucous laughter.
It’s not that we’re saying goodbye to Betsey forever. Far from it. You can still regularly rock up and watch the up and coming stars of female comedy at our Funny Women Awards heats (check out our calendar for when to catch the next one!) or learn how to do comedy yourself at one of our comedy workshops. At the very least you’ll see one of us propping up the bar. But sometimes a little change can do you good.
From July onwards, due to the increasing popularity of this fantastic night, Funny Women is branching out and moving Time Of The Month to a new place. It’ll be at Drink, Shop & Do near King’s Cross station.
Let’s be honest, ladies, this is a place that has regular ‘Bloody Marys and Board Games‘ evenings. The cider selection at the Betsey is fab, but we also potentially wanted in on some tomato juice and Scrabble. They should also really put ‘Eat’ in the name – that’s a lot of tasty things on toast.
The event is still the same supportive, fun comedy night you know and love. Get advice from us lot on improving your routine or finding a comedy style, and give your material a go at the end of the night.
