Now that registration for the Funny Women Awards is officially open for the 13th year running (woohoo!), we’ve put together a merry band of talented and inspirational funny experts to share their insider comedy knowledge, and help find your comedy mojo in Brighton this weekend.

Brighton Pavilion

We’re all about celebrating the different types of humour we see through the Awards, from stand-up to script writing and film making. We live it, breathe it and eat it (and obviously if comedy were a food, it would be a delectable custard pie).

It can take some time to find your way as a comedian, and finding that voice and knowing the best way to ‘get your comedy out’ (a technical term we just made up, but will definitely be heckling at the next Awards heat) can be tricky.

So if you’re not quite sure what kind of comedian you want to be, or just looking for a bit of advice before entering the Funny Women Awards, we have workshops covering sketch comedy, improv skills, script writing, developing your comic voice and more at the Brighton Fringe.

Join us for individual workshops (just £20), for the day or for the whole weekend (we’ll treat you real nice, we promise).

Q&A: Natalie Durkin, Polly: A 21st Century Love Story

Polly is a rom-com inspired musical which explores what it takes to live authentically and who we seek permission from to do just that. It’s also silly, messy, joyous and queer! We’re about to have a public and industry showing at The Other Palace on 18th Feb – very excited.
