There’s a hot new bubbling comedy club for East London taking place every Thursday at The Glory Pub in Haggerston, London you don’t want to miss called KAHUZZI!
Featuring stand-up, alternative comedy and cabaret KAHUZZI also offers slots to newcomers to comedy as host Jayde Adams – who you may know from her triumph at the 2014 Funny Women Awards – seeks out East London’s next comedy star.
“The name is a sloppy hybrid of the words Comedy and Jacuzzi” says Jayde. “I came up with it on New Year’s Day while I was pissed, sitting in a hot tub on Jonny Woo’s patio in London Fields. You should see the The Glory it couldn’t be any more perfect for comedy. Low ceilings, black, intimate, brick walls, slightly seedy – I was super excited when I saw it.”
KAHUZZI promises more twists than Prince Andrew’s memoirs and Jayde is keen to programme acts that break the mould: “It doesn’t matter what it is or who it is, as long as it’s bloody funny! I perform on the variety and comedy circuit so I’m keen to book acts of any background as long as they are funny. I want my KAHUZZI audience to come down each week not knowing what to expect but certain that it will be really good fun. I’m working with a wide pool of people and Shoreditch is the perfect place to do this. I have a crazy year ahead with various personal projects too and so the only way for me to run this comedy club is to inject a shit-load of crazy into it. If you want four middle aged blokes holding pints of beer, being sexist– this ain’t the comedy club for you. If you want something colourful, creative and collaborative – then KAHUZZI is your new home.”
Running with the KAHUZZI theme – expect giant inflatables, scuba divers, possibly a fake beach and bottled East London beer with an umbrella in it.
Tickets are £5 on the door, seats can be reserved in advance by contacting The Glory
