Business life for women isn’t rocket science and nor is it a lucky accident for those of us who manage to touch the glass ceiling so we are going to celebrate this with knobs on (or off, as the case maybe…) at our first ever Accidental Conference on Saturday 28th February. We’ve teamed up with the Guardian Women in Leadership and curated a brilliant day designed to help build confidence and take control of your professional and personal life.

We have gathered together some very impressive women who, across a range of panels and workshops, will provide insights, guidance, expertise and a few laughs about how to make the most of what you’ve got and rock it in business or the home front.

There’s no space for shoulder pads and this isn’t just about learning to be a proper business professional. It’s about having fun and gaining some non-traditional techniques to help you ‘stand up to stand out’  be the best you can be at business and beyond. With some interesting panel discussions thrown in for good measure around the subjects of volunteering, mentoring and public life.

We’ll start with Harriet Minter, editor of Women in Leadership for The Guardian and Funny Women founder Lynne Parker who will get you all settled and help you get to know each other before you scatter off for workshops and panels.

There will be a discussion on volunteering and mentoring led by Harriet Minter with Disha Sughand of Womankind WorldwideKathryn Nawrockyi, director of Opportunity Now and Lorna Votier of The Victoria FoundationIs there value in volunteering and do we need mentors?

The next panel is on politics and public life, we will have Frances Scott from the 50:50 campaign, a representative from the Inspiring Women campaign and a prominent political advisor.

Getting itchy feet? Don’t worry there will be some action too in our workshops. Lynne Parker is bringing the Funny Women classic Stand Up to Stand Out workshop to the conference to help you throw away the corporate rule book and have fun. Emma Stroud will be helping you learn to think on your feet and improvise for professional and personal success!

Award winning journalist Sharon Wright, who you may know from Diary of a Comedy Writer, helps you find the words and get the website you want to help promote you and your business online for the best results.

Charlotte Sweeney, a member of the Professional Speakers Association can help you get your speaking mojo up to speed, helping you control your energy levels throughout the day and survive the knocks that come with speaking out! If you find it hard to control your voice then actor Lisa Armytage has the workshop for you. It’s all about the breathing!

Worrying about how you look? Joanna Gaudoin, managing director of Inside Out image helps you find the colours and styles that you feel comfortable and smart in. 2013 Funny Women Awards winners Twisted Loaf will also be joining us and helping you with your body awareness. Using their acting techniques they will help you create a powerful presence with your stance.

Keep checking the site for more details as we are adding new stuff everyday to the conference! For more information and tickets click here!
