Nudinits Knit Safe for Work

Kady Potter

When I say I want to see more women in comedy, I don’t usually mean more of the body parts which make them distinctly female. I can certainly appreciate the female form in art and sculpture, but an underdressed woman on stage is more likely to make me giggle out of embarrassment.

Someone on the Funny Women team (who will remain nameless to protect the guilty) clearly has other ideas. She sent me a clip of a completely knitted comedy show in which all of the characters are naked.

Nudinits is a new online feature with both male and female characters, and I’m sure you’ll believe me when I say they’ve been knitted quite realistically. The story is set in the fictional village of Woolly Bush, which I think tells you almost everything you need to know.

The innuendo is packed into this 22-minute clip, from the road names to little details in the background that you might only spot on a second viewing. As I say in every other review, I’m trying not to give too much away – but this show is definitely cheeky, fruity and downright rude in places.

The euphemisms and innuendo packed into the film reminds me of some of the classic British comedies, like ‘Are You Being Served?’ and the Carry On movies. So, who knows whether we’ll look back on Nudinits as a classic in another 30 years?

Watch Nudinits film ‘Tickled Pink’ below. The intro is silent, so don’t crank up the volume too much.
