Shelve It! is a campaign run by the Women’s Networking Hub in Birmingham. It’s inspired by the rise of other anti-lads’ mag and anti-porn campaigns – such as No More Page 3 – and seeks to empower women by asking them to share their own feelings on the impact of lads’ mag culture. The campaign also hopes to call on retailers to limit the sale of magazines that objectify women.

On the 26th February, the campaign will officially launch with a one-day conference in Birmingham. The day will include a range of speakers, all of whom are influencial voices associated with the campaign. There will also be a range of interactive workshops, an introduction to Digital Activism and getting involved with the campaign online, opportunities to develop your lobbying skills and the chance to network with other like-minded individuals – and perhaps even begin a campaign of your own!

This is a fantastic event for anyone concerned with women’s issues and a real chance to learn how you can make a difference.

The launch and conference of the Shelve It! Campaign will take place on Tuesday 26th February at the Tally Ho Conference & Banqueting Centre, Pershore Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham B5 7RN.
