We’ve had a fantastic year so far in Brighton with our regular shows in the Studio Theatre at Komedia.  We’ve put on shows at this venue ever since we launched the Funny Women Awards in 2003 and return year after year as it’s such an important cultural hub.  Being able to put on a monthly sell out show is great payback to all the acts and ‘friends’ of FW we’ve built up in Brighton over the last 10 years.

We now have a new team in place to manage and book the shows.  Rosanna Farrar has taken on the marketing and management of the shows and, as a Brighton resident, she is well placed to actively promote what we’re doing around town and build up our audiences even more.  Rosanna is assisted by the wonderful Julie Jepson, a past Funny Women Awards finalist and also living in Brighton, who books the shows and performs in some of them herself.

This is what they have to say about the new set up:

“We’re delighted to be a part of such a fantastic comedy brand. Funny Women gives the UK’s (and indeed the World's) funniest women the perfect platform to show audiences up and down the country that it is more than possible to be clever, unique, side splittingly funny and FEMALE!

“The atmosphere at our Brighton Nights show is always warm, friendly and intimate which is the perfect setting for a first-class evening of stand up. We have a brilliant variety of acts, which is really important as it means there is something for everyone and there's no shortage of fresh, new material. Come and join us at the next show on Saturday 9th June!”

And if that isn't enough to warm the cockles of your heart, this is just a snippet of what review website Broadway Baby had to say about one of our shows:

"A brilliant night filled with talented, believable and beautiful women. Find a show near you." BroadwayBaby.com

Our next amazing line up will be announced soon, in the meantime read the full review HERE.
