Funny Women is delighted to be supporting Women on the Make during an exciting weekend programme at the start of the Bath Comedy Festival from 30th March to 1st April.  The programme has been created in partnership with the Natural Theatre Company and takes place at the Naturals’ Studio in Widcombe.  It includes practical workshops, a panel discussion and even a joke competition!

Women on the Make was formed in 2009 and last year performed their first show Let Them Eat Cake at the Edinburgh Festival. Now, they’re looking to develop a larger pool of funny women and are inviting performers from across the south west to participate in a weekend of creative projects designed to motivate, encourage and promote women interested in performing or writing comedy.

"Women on the Make want to bring people together, light the fuse and see what happens," says Angela Vick, founder company member. “We want to bring new female comedy talent out from its hiding place and provide an opportunity for women to try out their creative ideas.”

"It's wonderful to see this sort of initiative taking place at festivals," comments Lynne Parker, founder of Funny Women who will be taking part in the panel discussion on Sunday 1st April. "We've started our talent search for this year's Funny Women Awards so I'll have my beady eyes on the women in Bath!"

The weekend programme will run as follows:

Saturday 31 March:
Women on the Make will be out and about in Bath filming ordinary women telling jokes fortheir‘first go at stand-up’ competition.

Sunday 1 April:
