In 2025 Funny Women proudly launched The Glitter Challenge, mentoring 10 amazing women who have taken on a unique Comedy Challenge to raise vital funds for The Glitter Project. Each challenger will be mentored by an experienced comedian, helping them write and perfect their own unique 5 minute set. The challenge culminates with a night of stand up, our challengers appearing live on stage at the world’s largest arts festival, Edinburgh Fringe 2025.
The funds we raise from The Glitter Challenge will go towards giving women from all walks of life access to incredible creative opportunities in a safe, inclusive environment.
Let’s meet our next challenger…Donna Easton.
Donna Easton is a Joyologist (yes, that’s a real job), Co-Founder of Joyfulness and has had ‘stand up’ on her wish list for the last 20 years. She is trying to tell herself that running her businesses, bringing up her little girl and generally being a present partner, daughter and friend is the reason why she’s left it so long, but deep down knows that it’s way easier to say we are going to do the thing than to actually do the thing. She hopes this challenge will be a nudge for anyone who has been putting something off for 20 years to feel how squirmingly uncomfortable it feels and embrace it anyway.
