Last week we had the joy of attending HOW TO HAVE FUN AT WORK, a brilliant event hosted by Funny Women here at Rose Court where we work as a creative team for Grey London.
There were four different workshops and we chose to do the same two together: ‘Creating Content and Influencing People’ with Chanel Williams and ‘Improvise to Succeed’ with Monica Gaga. The other two workshops on offer that we didn’t get to were ‘How to Notwork and the Imposter’ with Gemma Greaves, and the mysteriously named ‘Power and Influence’ delivered by Lauren Allpress.
Chanel Williams taught us loads about the crazy world of TikTok, guiding us on everything from how to edit subtitles to how she gained 1.5 million followers by doing a banging Professor McGonagall impression (really it is nuts, worth a watch).
And Monica Gaga got us out of our heads with a ton of improv games and work in pairs, using the main principles of improv to have fun at work and think on our feet. We’d thoroughly recommend both sessions and look forward to seeing how those skills filter into our working lives over the coming months.
Then it was time for the panel, which was super informative with a range of opinions across various industries from advertising to comedy to local business.
Finally we were treated to a comedy show, hosted by Monica Gaga whom we’d met at our improv session. It was great to see her do her thing and the acts were all hilarious. We saw stand up, we saw character comedy, we laughed, we cried (with laughter)… all in all, a fantastic evening full of surprises.
Thank you Lynne and thank you Funny Women, please come back again soon!
If you want to know more about what you missed, details of the full programme are here. Dates for the next event to be announced soon!
