Funny Women

Calling all aspiring writers. Entry to the Sky Comedy REP Writers programme is now open offering an exciting paid opportunity for new writers from across the UK to develop their craft; previous mentors for the programme have included Simon Blackwell, Meera Syal, Guz Khan and Danny Brocklehurst with Dame Julie Walters as Patron.

The six-month long scheme will consist of workshops, rehearsals and one to one sessions, culminating with a series of plays being staged at the Birmingham REP in front of a live audience during 2023. Eight writers will be selected to develop a 15-minute play around a simple premise: a proposal in a park, and paid £3,000.00.

Applications are being accepted up until 12th August, and writers are asked to complete the form, along with a one-page synopsis, and two pages of sample scripts.

If you are a new writer looking for your big break give it a go!  All the details can be found at www.birmingham-rep.co.uk/whats-on/sky-comedy-rep/
