Sophie Willan’s show Alma’s Not Normal has won yet another accolade, having been named best comedy at the Broadcast Awards. A judge on the panel praised the show for its handling of subjects such as poverty, looked after children, addiction, sex work and more “in a way that is totally joyous, wholly honest, and incredibly believable…

Nida Manzoor’s show We Are Lady Parts, which tells the story of an all women Muslim punk band was highly commended at the Awards for how it “challenges cultural norms and redefines how Muslim women are represented on screen”.
Dreaming Whilst Black (recipient of a 2019 Funny Women Award), Ghosts, Ladybaby and Starstruck were shortlisted.
