Joe Lycett has stepped down as host of The Great British Sewing Bee and comedian and writer Sara Pascoe will take his place.
Lycett, who has hosted three series, tweeted: “A bit of news: I loved my journey on @sewingbee but I’ve decided it is time for me to go. My friend the great @sarapascoe will be the new host and I know she will be fantastic. Big love to all the brilliant team, and go Sara!”

New host Pascoe said she was: “beyond excited and very very happy’ about her new gig at the BBC show in which amateurs compete to win the sewing bee. “I’m so inspired by creativity and skill and I am deeply in love with clothes so I can’t think of a happier place to be.”
Susanne Rock, executive producer of Love Productions said Pascoe was “just the person to give our new sewers all the encouragement they need”.
Pascoe will join judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young when the show returns to BBC One next year.
