Sophie Willan has won the craft award for best comedy writing for her pilot episode of Alma’s Not Normal. Comedian and 2014 Funny Women Awards winner Jayde Adams, who co-stars in the show as Alma’s best friend Leanne, captured the win on camera.

Willan beat competition from Charlie Brooker for Antiviral Wipe, Charlie and Daisy May Cooper for This Country and the writing team for BBC one show Ghosts.
Alma’s Not Normal is currently being filmed in Bolton and Manchester and stars Willan in the title with 2017 Funny Women Awards winner Thanyia Moore as a recent addition to the cast.
