On 23rd March to mark the first anniversary of the UK going into lockdown Angel Comedy and Objectively Funny will launch The Best Medicine Festival, a week of events that will explore comedy and mental health through online workshops, panels and performance.

Ruby Wax, Felicity Ward, Bethany Black, 2014 and 2019 Funny Women Awards finalists Sindhu Vee and Kemah Bob will be among the acts taking part in the events which will aim to destigmatise, normalise and raise awareness of mental health issues, while also offering much-needed support for comedy industry professionals.

Topics such as the impact lockdown has had on comedy, the concept of the sad clown and more will be addressed in among comedy shows.

The festival is sponsored by broadcaster Dave, channel director Luke Hales said: “The team at Dave know that this past year has been tough for many in the industry and we hope that we will soon, once again, be back searching for exciting new talent on the live comedy circuit. In the meantime, we are pleased to be working with The Best Medicine Festival.”
