Comedian Gina Yashere is writing her memoir, titled Cack-Handed, which will be published in 2021.
In Cack-Handed Gina will record her experiences growing up as the child of Nigerian immigrants in London, including the racist and sexist abuse she endured whilst working as a lift engineer in the capital. Gina charts her rise to fame in America as a stand-up comedian, commentator on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and sitcom actor in the show she co-created, Bob ❤️ Abishola.
Gina said: “The definition of cack-handed is left-handed, which I am, and also awkward and clumsy, which I am… It also represents the unconventional track my life and career has taken.
“This is a book about trying, whether you succeed or not. About wanting something and going for it, despite how ridiculous, impossible, and stupid it sounds to other people. I’m excited to take you guys on this journey through my crazy life.”
Gina Yashere Cack-Handed will be published in June 2021 by Amistad.
