Comedians Sara Pascoe, Jo Brand and Bec Hill have joined forces with Robin Ince to create The Stay At Home Festival, which will be streamed into people’s homes, from the comedian’s individual homes. Ince came up with the idea in order to keep people entertained as live gigs and tours are cancelled across the country.

Ince posted on the Cosmic Shambles Network, which will be streaming the shows: “It is stating the obvious to say that strange days have got a hell of a lot stranger with many people facing confusion and anxiety during this COVID-19 pandemic. Artists have nowhere to play and audiences have nowhere to go to to be distracted. Venues are having to close, gigs are having to be cancelled and festivals abandoned.”

The online festival will kick off on Monday next week and run till Thursday with three previews over the weekend in order to test the tech. While the service will be free a pay-what-you-want button will be added to the site, with profits going to help performers and venues struggling due to these uncertain times.
