This is the ‘Year of Community’ here at Funny Women and we are very excited to see our fantastic community growing across the Regional Chapters.

We have Time of the Month events taking place in London, Exeter, Bristol, Cambridge, Dublin and Amsterdam with Manchester, Edinburgh, Hastings, Rochester and Brighton soon to be added to the map.

We are using this time to build our online community as we temporarily pause our live events, we are currently exploring how we can provide the same level of engagement and activity through our website and social media channels – so watch this space!

Alongside this, we are happy to announce that Emily Kennedy-Barnes has been appointed as our new Regional Network Producer!

“I am thrilled to be taking on this role for Funny Women. It is an absolute dream to be working with an amazing team of women that are making a difference in the world.

“I have always been passionate about empowering women in the arts and I am completely aligned with the vision and values championed by our brand. I am delighted to be part of the ongoing expansion of Funny Women and I look forward to developing the continuous growth of our regional networks.”

Emily has been involved with community arts throughout all of her working life as a producer, coordinator, event manager and performer. Emily studied Contemporary Performance and Community Practices at Dartington College of Arts providing her with a specialist insight into the community arts space which has helped her to deliver successful projects both internationally and locally. Emily has always had a passion for comedy and it has now become her life.
