Sinéad Quinlan has been announced as the winner of Irish TV’s Stand Up And Be Funny talent hunt. Quinlan, who is from Carrignavar, County Cork, has won €1,000 first prize this weekend and the chance to develop an online comedy pilot, beating finalists Jasmin Gleeson, Michael Rice and Justine Stafford.
It in 2019 green is good, as, rather like this year’s Funny Women Awards winner Laura Smyth who at the time of her win had only been gigging for five months, Quinlan entered Stand Up And Be Funny after just two gigs!
Quinlan stood out among hundreds of comedians who entered, the finalists were picked from three regional heats and the public chose who would go through as a wildcard.
Congratulations Sinéad Quinlan!
