Lou Sanders: Say Hello To Your New Step-Mummy

Lou Sanders is an interesting comedian, because, as she mentions a few times in this show she is not to everyone’s tastes. What comedian is? But it seems that those who don’t find Sanders to their taste get quite angry about it. Is it because she comes across as confident or is it because of her one big labia? We don’t know. But we do know that some Redditors don’t like her and it’s thanks to them Sanders has decided there’s more room in this world for labia material.

But it’s not all genitalia, there are Dad jokes, including one involving a swan that, if they weren’t usually supposed to be family-friendly, should be on all the jokes of the fringe lists out there. There’s also plenty of material from Sanders’ healer and the advice she gives, is that kind of thing low-hanging fruit? Maybe. Is it worth it though? Definitely.

It’s an incredibly gag heavy show, and very few sentences go without a quirky caveat. It is the comedy of someone who is perhaps an over-thinker, particularly when Sanders discusses her feminist credentials and motherhood, which you could say is what most comedians are but combined with Lou’s unashamed silliness makes it quick, self-aware and disarmingly smart.

Lou effortlessly kept the pace up and her hour flew by. I left the venue checking my watch and a terrible urge to end every sentence with “baby.” I absolutely loved it and you should go, baby.*
