Funny Women

2008 Funny Women Awards winner Katherine Ryan is one of the latest crop of celebrities discovering their roots with the BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are? programme. Each episode follows a celebrity who is tracing his or her family tree. In each case, the celebrity learns something new about themselves.

Our founder Lynne Parker was asked by the show’s production team if we could help facilitate filming Katherine in action.  “I had booked Katherine for a really big Christmas lunch event for 2000 people in the hospitality industry last December so I asked our client, UKHospitality, if they would help us.  Permission was granted and only the CEO, the event producer and I knew why Katherine was being filmed.

“I can’t wait to see the finished programme and discover Katherine’s family history. We are all so proud of our 2008 Funny Women Awards winner – such an incredible success story – and this will be a real inspiration to whoever wins this year.”

The 2019 Funny Women Awards final takes place on Thursday 19th September for tickets click here!

Katherine’s episode of Who Do You Think You Are will air this summer.
