The 99 Club is now inviting applications for their 2019 Female and Non-binary Comedian’s Bursary. The 99 Club bursary is for women and non-binary performers taking their debut hour up to the Edinburgh Festival.

Applicants who make the shortlist will be invited to appear in a showcase at 99 Club Leicester Square on Tuesday 30th April 2019 and two comics will each receive an award of £500. The event will be judged by a panel of top industry professionals including Hollie Ebdon (Ebdon Management), Cath Gagon (Avalon Management) Chortle Editor Steve Bennett, with more to be confirmed.

Last year Funny Women Awards alumni Sarah Keyworth and Catherine Bohart were awarded the bursary. Sarah’s show Dark Horse scored a nomination for the Best Newcomer award at the Edinburgh Fringe and she has since won 2019 Chortle Award for best newcomer. Meanwhile, Catherine has made appearances on The Mash Report and  8 Out of 10 Cats.

The application deadline is 16th April 2019. For more information and to apply click here!
