Jo Brand has revealed on BBC One’s Imagine… that she is working on a new comedy series with Morwenna Banks. Channelling her frustration into how society treats OAPs as invisible the series is about pensioners behaving badly. The comedian said: “Older people are just people, I feel letting an entire generation of people just fade into the background just because they are going to die a bit earlier than young people is not fair.”
Speaking to Alan Yentob, Brand specified that it’s mostly women who involuntarily perform a disappearing act: “Women, as they get older, they tend to get a bit invisible. I would encourage all women to be really annoying, and really out there. Be pissed. Be annoying. Shoplift. The whole lot.”
In BBC One’s Imagine… Brand and Banks are filmed working on their OAP series, deciding it would be set in “an isolated area of a very underpopulated county.”
The pair also joked about their appearances, with Banks wondering allowed if they could be identical twins and Brand responding: “I do.. the idea that no one can tell us apart!”
We can but wait…
