Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Bafta-winning BBC comedy Fleabag is returning for a second series. Beginning as a one-woman show at the Edinburgh Fringe Fleabag became one of the most popular shows of 2016.
Series one centred around Fleabag, our anti-heroine, a woman in her 30s dealing with her distant father, straitlaced sister, unsettling brother-in-law and artistic step mother all the while mourning the death of her best friend. By the end of the series, Fleabag was quite broken, producer Lydia Hampson told Dazed: “We can’t go back to pretending she’s fine again…Whatever our story is, we’re going to start a year on from where we left off.”
Our cast favourites will be returning, with the addition of Andrew Scott, although it is not known what his character will be.
Fleabag will return to BBC Three in 2019
