2013 Funny Women Awards finalist Sindhu Vee is among the new batch of comedians starring in a new series of Sky Comedy Shorts, she is joined by Alex Brooker, Lost Voice Guy, Lee Ridley, Jonny Pelham, Kris Marshall, Samson Kayo and Susan Wokoma.

Audiences will be able to spot supporting cast members Miles Jupp, Beattie Edmondson, Paul Kaye, Jane Horrocks and Daisy May Cooper in some of the shorts.

Sky says: “These shorts will tell hilarious tales of life, love and friendship whilst celebrating diversity in real life scenarios.”

Susan Wokoma’s comedy short tells the tale of 11-year-old Joanna who tries to understand grief for the first time when she witnesses her mother’s manic reaction to the death of Princess Diana, whilst trying to use the incident to get out of Sunday School.

While Sindhu Vee’s show is about Gita’s sister Preeti and brother in Law, Ronnie, are visiting from India. Preeti has become determined to have an affair whilst in the UK, signing up to a dating app, whilst Ronnie has become a newly devout (and celibate) Hindu. Gita attempts to cover for Preeti whilst she prepares to meet a date.
