If, like us here at Funny Women, you’re tired of the male heavy TV landscape currently available to you, especially if you consider comedy production, you’ll be happy to know Deborah Frances White is jumping in front of the camera and attempting to shift the scale a little bit.

Instead of resting on the success of the Guilty Feminist podcast, she’s taking the clout garnered from it and all the amazing female comedians she met along the way and putting it to work.

The Channel 4 pilot of Next Week’s News, a satirical late night topical show with a female led production team and an all female writers room will not be broadcast, but if successful, a full series could be commissioned and on air soon. The show hosted by Deborah Frances White discusses the week’s news cycle, explores it with commentary, sketch and guests and is bound to make your brain cogs turn! We may all become activists due to a group of women on TV!

I was at the recording and very happy to see the result! Adding my voice to others encouraging Channel 4 to commission Next Week’s News and lead the way in changing the current landscape and putting a whole bunch of funny women to work!
