Mindy Kaling and Hulu are continuing the run of remakes we’ve been enjoying recently, with Hulu submitting a series order for the Office star’s TV adaptation of the ’90s film Four Weddings and a Funeral; the romantic comedy that launched the careers of Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell.
Joining Mindy Kaling, who will be writing and executive producing the series, will be Mindy Project showrunner Matt Warburton and Variety reported that Jonathan Prince, Howard Klein, Tim Bevan, and Eric Fellner have also signed on to executive produce.
The Hollywood Reporter… reports that as you would expect the show “follows a group of friends whose lives intertwine during five events” and the five events match the original film. But will it include any acknowledgement of this pivotal scene? We don’t know.
