Funny Women

A brand new six part series, hosted by Jimmy Carr, with Russell Brand and 2008 Funny Women Awards winner Katherine Ryan (is this woman ever NOT working?) in the judging panel of Roast Battles is coming to Comedy Central UK in 2018.

Comedy Central UK’s general manager Louise Holmes, said: “Roast Battle will see the UK’s finest comedians go head to head in the ultimate battle of wits. We will pit friend against frenemy, northerners against southerners. The gloves will be coming off and no subject is off limits if it gives fodder for funny.”

Among the pairs going up against each other to trade insults are some Funny Women alumni! Including 2015 Funny Women Awards winner Desiree Burch who will be going up against Daniel Sloss, 2014 winner Jayde Adams who is being pitted against Alex Edelman and 2012 finalist Sofie Hagen, who will be insulting Larry Dean.

The full line up is:

  •  Iain Stirling v Joel Dommett
  •  Fin Taylor v Carl Donnelly
  •  Desiree Burch v Daniel Sloss
  •  Joe Lycett v Nick Helm
  •  Bobby Mair v Harriet Kemsley
  •  Ed Gamble v Phil Wang
  •  Elliot Steel v Mark Steel
