Kathy Griffin is coming to the UK as part of her world tour Laugh Your Head Off. In the spirit of making lemonade when life gives you lemons, the American comedian has written a show about an incident earlier this year when she hit the headlines for appearing to hold up Trump’s bloodied head in a photo.
In Laugh Your Head Off, Kathy will tell the story of what followed and her take on pop culture now. Having previously apologised for the picture, Kather told Australian morning TV show Sunrise: “I am no longer sorry, the whole outrage was B.S…
“The whole thing got so blown out of proportion, and I lost everybody. Like, I had Chelsea Clinton tweeting against me. I had friends, Debra Messing from ‘Will and Grace,’ tweeting against me. I mean, I lost everybody.
“I’ve been through the mill. My entire tour was cancelled within 24 hours, because every single theatre got all these death threats. These Trump fans are hard core. They are a minority but they know how to act like they’re a majority.”
Kathy is the Guinness World Record holder for The Most Televised Comedy Specials by any comedian in history. Last year she toured 80 cities with her Like a Boss show and published her book Kathy Griffin’s Celebrity Run-Ins: My A-Z Index. On top of her autobiography and TV show. So if you think you’re productive… you have some competition.
Kathy will play the London Palladium on 10th November, the Edinburgh Assembly Rooms on 11th November and Dublin’s Street on 8th November.
