We have partnered with casting platform and performer magazine, Backstage, and to celebrate our union, their lovely people have got together with us to create an amazing offer for our community.

Backstage is the largest casting platform in the US, running for over 50 years and now facilitating the casting of over 30,000 projects annually. The magazine is published weekly and includes informative articles and advice columns for performers and exclusive interviews with past cover stars including Aziz Ansari, Emma Stone, Ellen Page and Sarah Silverstone to name a few.

The Backstage website features a casting board which promotes upcoming work opportunities spanning all performance from fringe theatre, promotional work, corporate gigs to indie film and commercial gigs.

After seeing a trend in increased traffic to the US website from the UK, Backstage decided to take the plunge and launch our side of the pond and is now building relationships with performance based organisations.

Hannah Marie Williams, who is leading the launch of Backstage in the UK, commented on the partnership with us: “I instantly thought of approaching Funny Women to work with us as I have enjoyed many of your events, mostly sitting in the front row and getting picked on!”

Clearly that didn’t put Hannah Marie off as we now have an exclusive offer to share with our Funny Women community – you can enjoy six months membership free of charge to try out their features.

There’s no catch with this offer, no credit card required and no auto-renew on your account. Backstage would like talent to sign up and take advantage of the casting board, magazine and online content whilst they grow here in the UK and become a useful resource.

To sign up, please visit the special link here and use promo code FWUK to redeem the offer.

Start by filling out your profile with headshots, experience and showreels and you will then be searchable in the talent database which is accessed by casting directors, producers and commercial bookers daily.

Go on, do it!  What have you got to lose?

Backstage has featured Funny Women founder, Lynne Parker in an interview all about what it takes to be a funny woman here.
