The Radio Times has announced the TV Champion 2016 comedy nominees. So if you aren’t tired of voting, or have the voting bug you can take part in this Radio Times star battle. Which seems lighthearted now but this is TV, so anything could happen.

The format has starts go head to head in polls divided up by genre, the public votes for their favourite the winner moves on to the next round. Each genre consists of 64 competitors fighting for the title of category champion.

Once the eight category champions have been selected they will go head to head in a Champion of Champions Final (just as you expected, yeah?) and of course there can only be one Champion. The world of the Radio Times is harsh and capricious.

In the Comedy Champion list we’ve spotted, and will be deciding between: Miranda Hart, Amy Schumer, Sarah Millican, Sandi Toksvig, Fresh Meat’s Zawe Ashton and Charlotte Richie, Jessica Hynes, Tamsin Greig, Catherine Tate, Julia Davis, Lena Dunham, Tina Fey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Sarah Silverman, Sofía Vergara, Mindy Kaling, Jane Krakowski, Aubrey Plaza, Amy Poehler, Joanna Scanlan, Sharon Rooney, Rebecca Root, Rebecca Front, Ellie Kemper, Holly Walsh, Katherine Parkinson, Emma Kennedy, Michaela Coel and Sian Gibson.

Voting in the first categories kicks off on 27th. You can check out all the categories here!
