We were at the 2016 WOW Festival over the weekend and it was great fun to meet so many people celebrating Women of the World!
We had a stand at the festival where we invited you to share your favourite jokes on our joke wall in exchange for a free Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! mascara. It seems many of you like a good joke about cheese – halloumi featured quite heavily with the punchlines, as did Donald Trump and David Cameron.
We weren’t just there to chat though, we also put on a fantastic (if we may say) showcase, hosted by the lovely broadcaster Gemma Cairney. Gemma was joined on stage by a hilarious line up, Dannie Grufferty, Sarah Keyworth, Sindhu Vee, Rosana Bosanac, Yuriko Kotani, Maggy Whitehouse, Sophie Duker and 2015 Funny Women Awards winner Desiree Burch were all on hand to make everyone laugh.
There was another chance to catch Funny Women at the festival as our founder, Lynne Parker took part in a panel discussion all about women and ageing. It was a fantastic weekend and we’d like to thank everybody who came by our stand, Gemma and our performers for making our time at the WOW Festival so great.
